A native of Ternopil.
In 1964, he graduated with honors from the Ternopil State Medical Institute. Until 1980, he worked as a cardiologist in healthcare facilities of the Kostanay Region in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Candidate of Medical Sciences (Ph.D.) (1979), Doctor of Medical Sciences (Sc.D.) (1995). Since 1980, he has been an assistant professor, and from 1995 to 1997, an associate professor at the Department of Faculty Therapy. Since 1997 to the present, he has been a professor at the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 2 at the I. Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical Academy.
He is the author of 270 published works, 10 inventions, 5 patents (2 of which are patented abroad), and has mentored A number of disciples and junior researchers.
His primary research focus and scientific pursuits include studying the mechanisms of action of controlled therapeutic fasting (dietary and relief therapy) in cardiovascular and respiratory pathologies, Joint Diseases, Metabolic Disorders, and the metabolic aspects of the pathogenesis of renal diseases.
He is the author of the monograph "Selected Issues in Nephrology in Internal Medicine Clinic" from the "Medical Practice" series (Ternopil: Ukrmedkniga, 2000. - 343 p.), co-author of the CD-ROM "Practical Skills in Internal Medicine Clinic" (Ternopil: Ukrmedkniga, 2002), and the study guide "Hospital Therapy in Situational Problems" (Ternopil: Ukrmedkniga, 2002).
