Vessels and nerves of the olfactory organ

The Arteries of the External Nose originate from the facial artery and anastomose with the terminal Branches of the ophthalmic and infraorbital arteries. The primary arterial supply to the walls of the Nasal cavity is the sphenopalatine artery (from the maxillary artery). In the anterior part of the nasal cavity, branches of the anterior and posterior ethmoidal arteries (from the ophthalmic artery) ramify.

The Veins OF THE external nose drain into the facial and ophthalmic veins. Venous drainage from the nasal mucosa occurs primarily via branches of the sphenopalatine vein, which empties through the corresponding foramen into the pterygoid plexus.

Lymphatic vessels from the External Nose and nostrils drain Lymph into the submandibular Lymph Nodes.

The nerves supplying both the external nose and the nasal cavity belong to the distribution area of the First and Second branches of the Trigeminal nerve. The mucous membrane of the anterior part of the nasal cavity is innervated by the anterior ethmoidal nerve (derived from the first branch of the trigeminal nerve), while its remaining portion—the nasal conchae and nasal septum—receives innervation from the posterior ethmoidal nerve, as well as from the second branch of the trigeminal nerve (posterior nasal nerves, nasopalatine nerves).
