Horseshoe Kidney

A congenital anomaly of the Urinary System characterized by the fusion of the Kidneys, typically at their upper or lower poles, resembling a horseshoe shape. This anomaly may not cause any functional impairment and is often discovered incidentally during routine examination or at autopsy in individuals who died from unrelated pathologies. Other Congenital Renal Anomalies may also occur, including renal agenesis or aplasia, hypoplasia, Dysplasia, and Polycystic Kidney Disease.
