Scheme for the study and description of a radiation image (plain radiogram, sonogram, computed tomogram, magnetic resonance tomogram)
A. General Overview of the image.
1. Determination of the diagnostic imaging modality.
2. Identification of the object of study (body region).
3. Determination of the projection (plane) in which the image was acquired and the correctness of patient positioning.
4. Evaluation of image quality.
B. Detailed Analysis of the diagnostic image.
1. Identification of Organs and anatomical structures visualized on the image.
2. Assessment of the state of each organ and Anatomical Structure (position, shape, size, structure, and contour characteristics).
3. Evaluation of The structure of the organ under study, including its densitometric density (on a computed tomography scan), echogenicity (on a sonogram), and signal intensity (on a Magnetic Resonance imaging scan).
4. Determination of the spatial relationships among the identified organs and anatomical structures, and comparison of the findings with normal values.
5. Detection of pathological changes: areas of altered shadow intensity (X-ray imaging), densitometric density (CT), echogenicity (ultrasound), or signal intensity (MRI) of body Tissues, along with their localization, number, shape, size, homogeneity, and contours.
6. Evaluation of the signs of a disease or pathological syndrome.
C. Correlation of imaging findings with data from other clinical investigations.
D. Formulation of the Conclusion, indicating the leading pathological syndrome (or disease Diagnosis) or the absence of pathological changes.
