The Influence of Various Factors on the Rate of Photosynthesis
The rate of Photosynthesis depends on A number of factors. First of all, this is the wavelength of light.
The process is most intense in the ultraviolet and red PARTS OF THE spectrum. In addition, the rate of photosynthesis depends on the light intensity; up to a certain point, it increases in direct proportion to illumination, but beyond that, it becomes independent of it (Fig. 15).

Another factor is the carbon dioxide concentration. The higher the carbon dioxide level, the more intensive the photosynthetic process. Under normal conditions, a shortage of Carbon dioxide is the main limiting factor, since atmospheric air contains only a small percentage of it. However, in greenhouse environments, this deficit can be eliminated, which has a beneficial effect on Plant GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT rates.
Temperature is also a crucial factor.
All photosynthetic reactions are catalyzed by Enzymes, for which the optimal temperature range is 25—30 °C. At low temperatures, the catalytic activity of enzymes drops sharply.
Water is another vital factor influencing photosynthesis. However, it is impossible to quantify this factor directly, as water participates in numerous other metabolic processes.
