Introduction

The academic discipline "Molecular Biology" focuses on the biophysical and biochemical molecular mechanisms underlying processes in living Cells. The course "Molecular Biology" comprises three sections: fundamentals of molecular biology, core molecular genetic mechanisms, and the molecular foundations of Gene technologies. This textbook, which serves as a continuation of "Fundamentals of Molecular Biology. Part 1. Molecular Cell Biology" [1], covers the material of the final two sections of the course.

The methodological framework of the course includes lectures outlining the Key Concepts of each section, Practical Classes, and independent student work, which serves as the primary method for mastering the material outside of scheduled classroom hours.

More than half of the total time allocated for The Study of this discipline is set aside for independent work. Independent study covers all topics included in the curriculum—both those addressed in lectures and those for which only a study outline and reading list are provided. Through independent work, students develop The ability to acquire knowledge autonomously, which is subsequently applied during practical classes, as well as in preparation for written Assignments and the final exam.

This textbook has been prepared on The basis of revised and expanded manuals [2, 3] and adapted works [4-27], which also served as sources for illustrations. It is designed to greatly facilitate the comprehension of the sections "Core Molecular Genetic Mechanisms" (subsections 1–7) and "Molecular Foundations of Gene Technologies" (subsections 8–13) of the "Molecular Biology" course for students majoring in 051401 "Biotechnology". Before using this book, students should carefully review the material in References [1, 4, 5], as an understanding of cellular mechanisms and processes at THE MOLECULAR LEVEL is essential.
