Intersystemic Arterial Anastomoses of the Head and Neck

I. A. carotis interna ↔ A. carotis externa

1. Between the caroticotympanic Arteries and the anterior, inferior, posterior, and superior tympanic arteries within the tympanic cavity.

2. Between the meningeal branch (a. carotis interna) and the middle meningeal artery in the dura mater of the middle cranial fossa.

3. Between the dorsal nasal artery and the angular artery in the region of the nasal ROOT.

4. Between the supraorbital artery and the frontal branch of the superficial temporal artery in the forehead region.

II. A. carotis interna ↔ A. subclavia (Fig. 17)

✵ Between the posterior communicating artery and the posterior cerebral artery in the subarachnoid space at the Base of the Brain (circulus arteriosus cerebri Willisii).

III. A. carotis externa ↔ A. subclavia

✵ Between the superior thyroid artery and the inferior thyroid artery within the tissue of The Thyroid Gland.
