Lung Cancer

The lung shows a gray-colored, ill-defined lesion with infiltrative growth. Carcinogens and cigarette smoking are of paramount importance in the Etiology of lung cancer. Precancerous conditions include Chronic Bronchitis and chronic Pneumonia accompanied by hyperplasia. Cancer may arise within foci of pneumosclerosis following tuberculosis or pulmonary infarction, or around foreign bodies, giving rise to the so-called “scar cancer”.
