Tuberculoma

A tuberculoma is a form of secondary tuberculosis that develops as a distinct evolutionary phase of infiltrative tuberculosis, when perifocal inflammation resolves, leaving a focus of caseous necrosis surrounded by a capsule. A tuberculoma ranges from 2 to 5 cm in diameter and is typically located in the first or second pulmonary segment, more often on the right. Due to its rather well-defined margins, it is frequently mistaken for peripheral Lung Cancer during radiological examination.
