Chronic Bronchitis
Chronic bronchitis is a chronic inflammation of the Bronchi resulting from prolonged acute bronchitis or the long-term impact of Bacteria, Viruses, physical, or chemical agents on the bronchial mucosa. Chronic inflammation may be accompanied by epithelial metaplasia, leading to a decrease in the number of ciliated Cells. Consequences include Pulmonary Atelectasis, obstructive emphysema, chronic Pneumonia, and pneumosclerosis.
