This group of cervical pathologies includes cervical tears associated with childbirth or abortions. These tears result in eversion of the cervical mucosa and the proliferation of scar tissue. Anatomically, this eversion (ectropion) resembles a cervical erosion.

Histologically, such areas differ very little from the mucosa of the cervical canal; their glands and stroma are rich in Cells of the same type. At the same time, areas of ectropion may contain strands of coarse Fibrous Connective Tissue and bundles of Muscle fibers that migrated there As a result of the tear.
