3. DISLOCATIONS

A dislocation (luxatio) is a complete Displacement of the articular ends of bones, resulting in the loss of contact between their articular surfaces within the joint. A subluxation refers to an incomplete displacement of the articular surfaces.

By Etiology, dislocations are classified into traumatic and pathological. Traumatic dislocations occur suddenly under METABOLISM/18.html">The Influence of an external force and are accompanied by the rupture of joint Tissues (capsule, ligaments, Blood Vessels, etc.). A pathological dislocation is the result of the destruction of articular surfaces and other joint structures due to a pathological process (tuberculosis, Syphilis, tumors, purulent inflammation of the joint). Such dislocations develop gradually under the influence of Muscle pull and physical loads.
