Chapter 18. Evolution of Lower Organisms

The organic world is divided into two superkingdoms: prokaryotic organisms (Procariota) and eukaryotic organisms (Eucariota). The first superkingdom includes only a single kingdom, Monera, which consists of two subkingdoms: Bacteria and blue-green Algae. In the superkingdom Eucariota, Three kingdoms are distinguished: the Plant kingdom (Vegetabilia, or Plantae), the Fungal kingdom (Fungi, or Mycota), and the Animal kingdom (Animalia). The Study of the Evolution of the most ancient life forms involves several key challenges: THE ORIGIN OF life (The formation of the primary living system from organic molecules), The Emergence of eukaryotic forms and Multicellular Organisms, and the appearance of Viruses.
