Chapter 2. CYTOLOGY.

Slide 13. Amitosis in the epithelial cells of the urinary bladder mucosa.

Staining: hematoxylin and eosin.

Magnification: x400.

Examine groups of Cells or isolated cells. The Cell Cytoplasm is pink, and the nuclei are purple. Focus attention on the nuclei. The cells typically contain one or two nuclei. The Nucleus may be spherical in shape (1) or appear dumbbell-shaped with a constriction in the middle (2). The constriction gradually deepens. Two nuclei are located either close to each other (3) or at some distance apart (4).
