There are only a few known Examples where Enzymes catalyze Addition to a double bond not conjugated with a carbonyl or carboxyl group. It has been found that bacterial Cells (pseudomonads) catalyze the stereospecific Hydration of oleic acid to D-10-hydroxystearic acid [126]. Just as in the previous examples, the addition proceeds in an anti-position, and the proton attaches from the re-face.
