Gastric Cancer Metastases to the Diaphragm

The metastatic process consists of 5 stages: 1) invasion of tumor Cells into the lumen of a Blood or lymphatic vessel; 2) transport of tumor cells via the bloodstream or Lymph flow; 3) arrest of tumor cells at a new site; 4) extravasation of tumor cells into the perivascular tissue; 5) outgrowth of the metastasis.
