Hydrocalyx
The specimen shows a Kidney. A stone lodged in a calyx obstructs urine outflow from it, leading to the dilation of this specific calyx only—a condition known as hydrocalyx; subsequently, the renal parenchyma undergoes atrophy. The onset of infection leads to a complication known as calculous Hydronephrosis (hydroureteronephrosis), which may progress to Pyonephrosis (pyoureteronephrosis).
