6. SPERMATIC CORD
The Spermatic Cord (funiculus spermaticus) consists of: the Ductus deferens, testicular venous plexuses and artery, Lymphatic vessels, and nerves. The spermatic cord extends from the deep inguinal ring, where the ductus deferens diverges from the other vessels. It is formed following the descent of the Testis from the lumbar region of the Abdominal cavity, where it develops, down into the Scrotum. By the time of birth, the Testes must descend into the scrotum. The absence of the testes in the scrotum is known as cryptorchidism.
