2. DIGESTION IN THE STOMACH

The digestive Functions of the Stomach include food storage, its mechanical and chemical Processing, and the fractional evacuation of the food chyme into the intestine.

The food chyme remains in The Stomach for several hours. During this time, it swells, liquefies, and undergoes Hydrolysis by salivary Enzymes (inside the food bolus) and gastric juice.
