3. ANTICOAGULANT SYSTEM OF THE BLOOD
The anticoagulant system includes various anticoagulants, such as antithrombin III. The smooth surface of Blood Vessels also helps to slow down blood clotting.
The blood also features a system capable of dissolving fibrin formed during coagulation. This system includes plasmin, and The process of fibrin breakdown is known as Fibrinolysis.
Most people die from conditions associated with increased blood clotting. Increased blood clotting is referred to as hypercoagulation, while decreased clotting is called hypocoagulation.
