Chlorella

Chlorella is a unicellular, non-motile green alga. Its Structure is shown in Fig. 2.30. It can be found in freshwater ponds and ditches. Chlorella is easy to cultivate and is widely used in experiments studying Photosynthesis (Section 7.6), as well as an alternative food source (Single-Cell Protein; Section 12.12.3).
