2.4.4. Viruses as Pathogens

Viruses are also capable of infecting Eukaryotic Cells; similarly to prokaryotic infections, each virus has its own specific host. TMV, for instance, infects only tobacco plants. Overall, viruses cause A wide variety of diseases in plants, animals, and Fungi. Human viral diseases include measles, rubella, chickenpox, Influenza, herpes, and AIDS.

Viruses cause numerous different diseases in organisms across almost all other species.
