The Scope of biochemistry is as vast as life itself. Wherever life exists, diverse chemical processes occur. Biochemistry explores the Chemical Reactions taking place in microorganisms, plants, insects, fish, birds, lower and higher mammals, and, most notably, The Human Body. For students of the biomedical sciences, the latter two areas are of particular interest. However, it would be short-sighted to completely overlook the Biochemical characteristics of other life forms, as these features are often crucial for understanding various phenomena that directly impact humans.
