Production of Microbial Biomass

Microbial biomass is used to produce dietary Proteins and BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES. In medicine, the biomass of the green alga Scenedesmus is widely applied. Cultivated in a liquid nutrient medium, it yields up to 80 tons of biomass annually. The biomass undergoes Enzymatic Hydrolysis using alkaline phosphatase, which breaks down 50% of the proteins into Peptides and Amino Acids. The resulting hydrolysate is rich in Essential Amino Acids and Vitamins. It is utilized to accelerate recovery and physiological regeneration following illnesses, as well as acting as a wound-healing stimulant.
