Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography (US) is based on the analysis of ultrasound pulses reflecting off Tissues with varying acoustic properties. This method is harmless and has no ionizing effect on The Human Body. In the Diagnosis of tuberculosis and other pulmonary diseases, The Use of ultrasound is limited because air-filled Lungs distort the contours of internal lesions. US is valuable for detecting small amounts of fluid (up to 10 ml) in the pleural cavity and diagnosing loculated Pleurisy. The method can assist in identifying subpleural masses (tuberculomas) and is useful for detecting enlarged mesenteric Lymph Nodes, as well as lesions of the FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE Organs and Kidneys.
