Microgyria with congenital Hydrocephalus

The Brain exhibits an increased number of convolutions that are reduced in size. The Lateral ventricles are dilated, which is a manifestation of intraventricular hydrocephalus. This pathology is accompanied by progressive Atrophy of the brain parenchyma, largely associated with impaired CEREBROSPINAL FLUID outflow due to stenosis, bifurcation, or atresia of the cerebral aqueduct, as well as atresia of the median and lateral apertures of the Fourth ventricle and the interventricular foramen.
