Acute Lung Abscess
Lung abscess is of pneumogenic origin. A pneumogenic abscess develops as a complication of Pneumonia of any Etiology, typically staphylococcal or streptococcal. Suppuration of the pneumonia focus is usually preceded by Necrosis of the inflamed lung tissue, followed by purulent-necrotic breakdown of the lesion. The liquefied purulent-necrotic mass is discharged through the Bronchi with sputum, resulting in The formation of an abscess cavity.
