Cor pulmonale

The macrospecimen demonstrates an enlarged Heart and right ventricular hypertrophy, with the wall thickness increased up to 1.0 cm (the normal thickness of the right ventricular wall is 3 mm). The Development of cor pulmonale is promoted by chronic lung diseases (chronic Pneumonia, chronic obstructive Bronchitis, Bronchial Asthma, etc.), which cause lesser Circulation Hypertension, ultimately leading to right heart hypertrophy (cor pulmonale).
