Hemorrhagic tracheobronchitis
The specimen shows alterations in the mucous membrane of the Trachea and Bronchi characterized by numerous hemorrhages; the mucosa is hyperemic and dull. In acute Bronchitis, the bronchial mucosa becomes congested and edematous, with potential petechiae and ulceration. The bronchial lumen predominantly contains abundant mucus. Various Forms of catarrhal inflammation develop within the bronchial mucosa, accompanied by the accumulation of serous, mucous, purulent, or mixed exudate.
