Pleural Empyema
The specimen demonstrates a section of the parietal Pleura showing a cavity bounded by fibrous tissue. The center of the cavity contains an accumulation of grey, creamy, purulent masses. Empyema is an example of circumscribed purulent inflammation in Body Cavities. Outcomes: Organization; spread to surrounding Tissues with The Development of Sepsis.
