Morphology of inflammation and immunopathological processes
Tuberculoma

The specimen shows a lung section featuring a clearly demarcated greyish area, 3 cm in diameter. The lesion represents a focus of destructive caseous necrotic changes. A thin capsule with signs of specific productive granulomatous inflammation is formed around the lesion. This is an example of alterative inflammation. Outcomes: spread of the tuberculous inflammation to surrounding Tissues.
