Nutmeg liver
Initial stage (hepar moschatum simplex h. m. adiposum): the liver is enlarged and flabby, with a yellowish-brown surface and cut section showing numerous dark red spots representing dilated and congested central Veins with diapedesis of red Blood Cells beyond the vascular wall. The yellow color and flabbiness are due to fatty degeneration. Causes: Hypoxia.
