Scheme for the Study (Description) of the X-ray Image of the Maxillofacial Region

A. General Overview:

1. Definition of the radiographic technique (intraoral, panoramic, extraoral, etc.);

2. Region (zone) of interest;

3. Evaluation of radiograph quality.

B. Detailed Examination of the Region of Interest:

1. Assessment of the condition of each tooth visualized on the radiograph, including:

a) Determination of the position of each tooth, the size and shape of the crown and ROOT, and the sharpness of their contours;

b) determination of the size and shape of the pulp chamber and root canal, the sharpness of their contours, and the degree of patency or obliteration;

2. Assessment of the Bone Structure pattern in the examined area of the jaws, including:

a) density and orientation of the trabecular bone;

b) degree of trabeculation;

c) sharpness and density of the cortical layer of the alveolar ridge and the lamina dura of the dental alveoli;

d) sharpness, shape, and dimensions of the interdental and interradicular septa.

3. Condition of the periodontal ligament space, its distinctness and uniformity.

C. Correlation of the obtained radiographic findings with clinical data and results of supplementary diagnostic Methods.

D. Formulation of the radiographic report.
