Preface

Future doctors begin their journey into medicine by studying human anatomy. Anatomy is one of the most essential foundational disciplines, and professional training is unthinkable without a solid grasp of its basics. The purpose of this guide is to highlight the key points necessary for training top-tier specialists in Dentistry.

This study guide has been developed in accordance with the standard and working curricula for the discipline "Human Anatomy" for students of dentistry faculties at state higher medical educational institutions of Ukraine of III-IV accreditation levels majoring in Dentistry (7.12010005).

The guide is based on a course of lectures delivered by the authors over many years to both domestic and international students majoring in Dentistry (7.12010005), with a special focus on subject-specific topics vital for future dentists. It comprises 10 chapters that concisely summarize the lecture content for each respective topic. The authors emphasize the crucial Structural and functional aspects of the material being studied. This approach encourages readers to engage in active critical thinking rather than relying on the rote memorization of specialized terms. Due attention is given to the fundamental principles of anatomical study: the interrelation between Structure and function, as well as the integrity and unity of the Organism and its external environment.

The authors hope that the readers of this book will include dentistry students of state higher educational institutions, postgraduates, and instructors. We will be grateful for any constructive feedback and suggestions aimed at improving the guide, which will be duly considered in future editions.
