Modern approaches to the diagnosis of acute poisoning
Instrumental diagnostic methods in acute poisoning

Instrumental (functional) diagnostic Methods are of vital importance in establishing a clinical Diagnosis of poisoning.

Determining key systemic hemodynamic parameters—such as stroke volume, Cardiac Output, and total peripheral vascular resistance—is a mandatory diagnostic requirement in severe cardiovascular dysfunction of toxic origin.

Electrocardiography is used to assess The Nature and severity of toxic myocardial injury, as well as to diagnose Cardiac Arrhythmias and conduction disturbances.

Instrumental Diagnostics of respiratory disorders in Acute Poisoning evaluates the degree and type of Hypoxia, which is a frequent complication of severe intoxications, alongside Blood acid-base balance alterations.

Pulse oximetry and spirography are performed. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy is employed for the emergency Diagnosis and Treatment of upper airway chemical Burns and Atelectasis.

Instrumental diagnostics of abdominal organ injuries is used to evaluate the severity and extent of chemical burns of the Esophagus and Stomach (esophagogastroduodenoscopy). The Procedure is performed within the first 2–3 days following poisoning and subsequently at 3–4 weeks during the scarring and deformation phases associated with impaired food passage.
