Cell growth, growth factors

Upon completion of mitosis, Cells enter a growth phase. Cell growth is accompanied by an increase in the volume of both The Nucleus and the Cytoplasm. Cells intensively accumulate energy and synthesize Proteins required to build Organelles and Cytoplasmic membranes. Growth is controlled by growth factors. The following components are distinguished: 1) protein growth factors; 2) specific CELLULAR RECEPTORS FOR these factors; 3) proteins that regulate the uptake of growth factors by cells. Protein growth factors belong to the group of growth Hormones.
