Ecogenetics

The branch of genetics that studies the IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL factors on the heredity and Variability of organisms is called ecological genetics. Adverse environmental factors can alter Gene Expression and cause damage to the genetic material (Mutations). Clinically, these changes manifest as ecogenetic disorders, ultimately reducing the adaptability of human populations to their environment. The problems of human Ecogenetics have become particularly pressing due to The Emergence of novel environmental factors—such as industrial waste, vehicle emissions, pesticides, Pharmaceuticals, and food additives—that humans have not previously encountered and to which they are not adapted. The ecogenetic impact of these factors can be unpredictable.
