Preface

This textbook has been written in accordance with the current curricula in medical biology, Histology, human anatomy, normal physiology, and pathomorphology approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It is designed for students and faculty of pharmaceutical and medical higher education institutions of the III-IV accreditation levels.

The textbook material is structured into chapters. The first two chapters cover medical biology and histology, detailing the BIOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF human life, the biogeocoenotic level of life Organization, and THE PLACE OF humans within it. The subsequent chapters describe individual body systems following a standardized framework: anatomy, histology, physiology, and the most common pathological processes. In our opinion, this pedagogical approach is optimal from the perspective of clinical logic. These chapters place special emphasis on the pharmacological effects of specific drugs on organ function. The final chapter focuses on Higher Nervous Activity, concluding the systematic coverage of the body's Organ Systems.

A detailed Table of Contents enables readers to quickly locate necessary information. A glossary of biomedical terms is provided at the end of the book, helping readers grasp their core meanings and navigate medical and pharmaceutical terminology more easily. We deliberately included a greater number of labels in the illustrations than terms in the main text to encourage students to deepen their knowledge beyond the standard curriculum during independent study.

The textbook encompasses several foundational disciplines: medical biology, Normal Anatomy and physiology, histology, and pathology. This Structure is entirely innovative, as all these subjects have been integrated for the first time within a single volume. The authors hope that mastering the material presented herein will provide a solid foundation for a profound comprehension of clinical disciplines and pharmacognosy as a whole.
