A slide of the Ascaris Uterus containing numerous eggs in the lumen (1), surrounded by thick membranes (2). Beneath the membrane lies the perivitelline space (3). In the center is a zygote with two nuclei – pronucleus (4). When examining the nuclei, we cannot distinguish between the male and female pronucleus. The Cytoplasm contains numerous small vacuoles. Examining other zygotes, we observe various stages of nuclear transformation: nuclei at the loose skein stage (5) with an intact nuclear envelope; nuclei without a nuclear envelope containing two pairs of Chromosomes in the form of long loops (6), or nuclei with a metaphase plate.
