WORKSHOP IN HISTOLOGY, CYTOLOGY AND EMBRYOLOGY - 2016
Chapter 2. CYTOLOGY.
Slide 9. Ribonucleic acid in the cells of a cat spinal ganglion.
Staining: pyronin and methyl green.
Magnification: x400.
At low magnification, we locate large, round Cells. One of them, containing a Nucleus (1), is examined at high magnification. The Nucleus features an almost transparent karyoplasm, with the red-stained nucleolus (2) clearly outlined. Occasionally, small green-stained Chromatin granules can be distinguished within the nucleus. Red granules (3) are also observed in the Cytoplasm, indicating the presence of RNA.
