The section is made through the renal cortex and medulla. Externally, the Kidney is covered by a fibrous capsule (1). The bulk of the renal cortex is formed by convoluted tubules (2) cut in various directions. Among them, renal corpuscles (3) stand out due to their more intense staining. Medullary rays (4) extend radially into the cortex from the inside and appear longitudinally sectioned. The medulla (5) is located deeper. The medulla is represented by renal pyramids, which contain straight tubules.

Separately at high magnification, it is shown that the renal corpuscle is formed by a vascular glomerulus (6), the capillaries of which are visible in sections in various projections. Endotheliocytes of the capillaries have elongated nuclei. Single erythrocytes are frequently found in the lumen. The glomerular capsule (7) has two layers: visceral (inner) and parietal (outer). The visceral layer is not identified because it merges with the Capillary Wall. The parietal layer is formed by simple squamous epithelium and is separated from the visceral layer by a narrow capsular space. Renal corpuscles are surrounded by sections of proximal tubules (8) (large diameter, narrow uneven lumen; epithelial Cells have turbid Cytoplasm and a brush border, which is sometimes difficult to distinguish); thin segments (narrow lumen, small diameter, low epithelium); and distal tubules (9) (cuboidal epithelium, smooth and rounded lumen contours).

Blood Vessels of various calibers are frequently observed in the renal stroma.
