Steroids

Derivatives of cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene are known as Steroids. These include high-molecular-weight alcohols (sterols), their fatty acid esters (sterides), components of saponins (sapogenins), cardiac Glycosides, aglycones of certain Alkaloids, and animal Hormones (such as testosterone and estrogen).
