5.9.5. Glycolipids and cholesterol

Glycolipids and Cholesterol are also present in membranes. Glycolipids are Lipids with carbohydrate chains attached to them. Like Phospholipids, glycolipids have polar heads and non-polar tails. Cholesterol is structurally related to lipids and also possesses a polar region within its molecule.
