Modern biology is an interdisciplinary science that has emerged from advancements in Cell biology, cytochemistry, experimental Embryology, molecular biology, Molecular Genetics, and other biological disciplines.

This alone demonstrates how challenging it is to jointly analyze and comprehend the results and breakthroughs of the aforementioned sciences. The Scope of processes within its purview is continually expanding, while the volume of scientific journals and educational literature on these topics is growing. Under these conditions, writing a textbook that highlights, even selectively, the achievements of this rapidly evolving science is both a difficult and vital task.

These lecture notes are neither a conventional textbook nor a collection of isolated essays.
