Chemical Composition of the Human Body

We have already discussed the Elemental Composition of The Human Body. Its chemical composition is presented in Table 2.3. The main components are Proteins, fats, CARBOHYDRATES, Water, and minerals, with water accounting for the largest share, although its content varies significantly across different Tissues. Water is a polar compound capable of hydrogen bonding; it is precisely due to these properties that it serves as an ideal solvent in the human body.
