DABTC Amino Acid Derivatives can be analyzed by reversed-phase HPLC (Fig. 14.4; conditions are given in the caption). The method allows for Quantitative evaluation of the results and is particularly convenient in combination with solid-phase degradation. However, the analysis does not reveal the color differences between the thiocarbamyl derivatives (blue) and the thiohydantoins (red) that are clearly visible on the thin-layer chromatogram.
