These are deep-sea marine organisms that reach giant sizes for Protozoans—up to 0.5 m. They form irregularly shaped, intertwined tubes. The tubes have an organic matrix that incorporates foreign particles, primarily sand grains. Inside the tubes is a multinucleated plasmodium, which can break down into separate uninucleated Cells.
