Liver Cancer against the Background of Calculous Cholecystitis
The specimen shows an enlarged Gallbladder packed with calculi. Adjacent to it in the liver parenchyma, There is a gray tumor nodule with ill-defined margins and an infiltrative growth pattern. Microscopically, this is most commonly hepatocellular carcinoma. It develops either as a single large mass involving nearly an entire lobe of the liver (nodular form) or as multiple small nodules scattered throughout the liver tissue (diffuse form).
