Chronic Hypertrophic Gastritis
A special form of Chronic gastritis is Ménétrier's disease, in which the gastric mucosa is markedly thickened and resembles cerebral gyri in appearance. The morphological basis of the disease is the proliferation of glandular epithelial Cells, glandular hyperplasia, and infiltration of the mucosa by lymphocytes, plasma cells, epithelioid, and giant cells, accompanied by cyst formation. Exacerbation of chronic gastritis is manifested by stromal edema, hyperemia, marked cellular infiltration with an increased percentage of neutrophils, and occasionally The formation of microabscesses and erosions.
