Gangrenous gastritis

It occurs in cases of gastric trauma, PEPTIC ULCER DISEASE, and ulcerating Gastric Cancer. The mucosa is markedly thickened, the folds are coarse, with hemorrhages and fibrinous-purulent deposits. A leukocytic infiltrate permeates all layers of The Stomach and the surrounding Peritoneum, leading to The Development of perigastritis and Peritonitis.
